I went for an ultrasound because of pain in the liver area Doctor suspected Gallstones
Gall bladder was fine
However the liver didn’t look great they said it appeared normal in size but with increased echogenicity and heterogeneous in texture in keeping with steatosis and chronic changes
there is focal fatty sparring noted adjacent to the gall bladder
portal and hepatic veins are patent
My spleen is enlarged 15cm
Worried is an understatement

Ultrasound isn't very good at diagnosing liver issues but is adequate to determine if you should be referred to a specialist. It will take better testing to get you to a diagnosis but a typical next step would be a liver stiffness test such as FibroScan. You are probably more frightened than you need to be but it is hard until you get a proper diagnosis. See a hepatologist if you can or a gastro doc with a liver specialty. Most other physicians have little knowledge of liver disease.
I think that your ultrasound has some findings which indicate the need of some futher tests according to your doctor's suggestions. But nothing conclusive so do not worry so much.
