Seems I had for about 30 yrs Told me is severe and watch diet and sugars. Don’t know much about numbers but said fatty liver is 400 and other is 14 Is this mean I am at the end of my life. Thank you

No, it doesn't mean that. Yes, watch your diet lose weight, exercise as much as you can. You can bring the numbers down. I am 70 now 69 when my journey started. My numbers were 19.5 and 400. The Doctor I had then was willing to settle with fibroscan results with a "probable F4" diagnosis. I went for 2nd opinion, this was a Hepotoligist who doesn't believe in the fibroscan, too many variables that can give higher numbers. He suggested, since all test stated something different, I have biopsy. Switched doctors had biopsy, results were Grade 1 fibrosis with mild fatty liver which he feels can be reversed. It is not a death sentence but you do need to watch your diet. Good luck.

The diagnosis should be confirmed through other means as the 400 is as high as that machine goes so the reading is suspect, however, it means that you have a lot of fat in your liver which has caused damage and scar formation. If you can reduce lose weight, reduce the stress and inflammation on the liver it can improve. If it continues to get worse it likely leads to shortening your life. A scary spot but you are not helpless. There is a lot of information on our website but here is a link to the diet strategy I use which may be a way to start thinking about changes. Good luck
