Fibrosis is a dynamic process it can reverse or can get worse .If you had fatty liver you might have made lifestyle changes which is reflected on your fibroscan score.
I didnt think it was possible and have questioned whether the result was true as my cap score hasnt changed although my liver function test has returned to normal from 128 alt
Remember that liver function tests indicate that a lot of liver cells are dying. If you reduce the inflammation those will go down. A good diet can affect blood levels fairly quickly which is a good sign but weight loss is a long term project.
Am I allowed to ask my hepatologist for a print out of my fibroscan as the last one I had done was 7.1 in November 2019 9.5 in Feb 2019 7.1 in feb 2017 I find it strange that 2 results are identical . I asked if there was a possibility of in dictation the 7.1 result from 2017 was given in error .Its really causing me anxiety .Is the fibroscan important as all my hepatologist said was readings arent always reliable --I was wondering if for peace of mind i was to have a private scan done
Brilliant Wayne --- Could you help me understand about IQR two of my fibroscans showed 18% and the last one showed 11% I didnt see anyone after scans so couldnt ask the question and my next one isnt for a year
