Medicaid has a new thing, unless you ave a liver biopsy, they won't pay for your hepc meds. STUPID

Does anyone know if that is a local or national rule? Medicaid is run by the states so some things can differ

Will Medicaid pay for the liver biopsy? If so, go for it. I had one and it's not bad at all. In and out in 2-3 hours. That includes walking through the door!

Medicaid paid for it, they made me do it, before they will pay for my hepc meds. I had it done today, at the hospital I had to go to in Fort Smith AR, I was there from 7 am until 3 pm, waiting for a procedure thats took a total of maybe 10 minutes. Plus, hurt like hell. But its done now and over with. No regrets or complaints, except they could have given me more pain relief for the moment. Ouch.

My medication was sent to me directly from Gilead at $5 per 4 week course. I did 2.

I dont know what Medicare does.

But I was in the first group fast tracked onto Harvoni, shortly after it was released to the public.

I would ask your hepatoligist what new drugs are looking to give away their drugs. They are out there.

Medicaid said people now have to take HIV test every 30 days, and have a liver biopsy for hepc patients before they will pay for there medicaitions. I know 4 or 5 people that got diagnosied and had there meds that day. Its something new Medicaid is doing. I had to undergo the liver biopsy today, that was no fun at all.

Watch, they will come up with something else to keep me from getting rid of this as fast as possible. What is wrong with those people? I guess they just want you to die, or spread it to everyone somehow. You would think they would want you to get rid of that disease ASAP.
