Good morning everyone,
As we changed the clocks and moved from GMT to BST in the UK it's important to get enough sleep as it's easy enough on the Sunday morning to just get up an hour later but are our bodies ready to go to sleep and hour earlier.
Apparently its much harder for our bodies in the Spring than the winter as on the following Monday there is an increase in traffic accidents work place accidents and I was surprised to learn an increase in heart attacks and strokes for the first few days after BST daylight saving time starts.
Losing an hours sleep disrupts our hormonal balance (Ghrelin) which can make us want to eat more to compensate so this is something that members want to be aware of to take steps to avoid this.
For those fasting remember that the hormone Ghrelin is produced when we haven't had enough sleep, here's an interesting article about it:
So if you feel more hungry in the first few days of next week remember it is a natural reaction to changing the clocks and use exercise and day light to minimalist its effects and soon you'll be back on track. π
