I have had bells palsy on the full left side of my face for over 3 weeks now and I am really struggling with it. I get really anxious about leaving the house and as a result have not gone anywhere for the three weeks i have had this condition. I also had a heart attack 5 years ago and this has now brought all the feelings of being frightened to go or do anything in case i have a stroke I know its mad thinking like this but i cant help it does the feeling of being alone and scared go away and has anyone else had bells palsy with loads of pain cos behind my left ear is hurting so much

Sorry you are having such a difficult time with Bell's palsy. Have you been back to your GP to ask them to check your ear? Also check they have ruled out Ramsay Hunt syndrome: facialpalsy.org.uk/about-fa.... Bell's palsy is different to a stroke, you can find out more about the differences on this page: facialpalsy.org.uk/about-fa...

Try not to worry and remember that it is natural to feel stressed and worried about things when you are feeling so poorly. The best thing to reassure yourself is to go back to your GP and discuss your concerns with them.

I hope you find the treatment option that is best for you. There are different procedures, such as nerve transplants and masseter facial nerve transfers, that you could look into. You can find more information about those at: facialparalysisinstitute.com/
