statins

Just been offered statins but not because of cholesterol and weighing up the pros and cons as the doctor has also told me taking it increases the chances of me developing diabetes. Wondered if you have any information about the side effects?

I've been on stations for 2 years due to being over 40 and a type 1 diabetic to help keep arteries flowing.My cholesterol is and has always been in range so it's just a precaution. I've not had any side affects.

I've taken statins for years as I'm type 1 diabetic. No side effects for me and my cholesterol level is excellent.
