Disimpaction complete?

I disimpacted my 6 year old last week and got to watery stools with food bits several times (this was on 12 sachets). As per the ERIC guidelines I reduced by half (6 sachets) and gradually down to a maintenance dose. My son has had a couple of small accidents in between toilet sits since then. Is this a sign his bowel is still settling down or he is still impacted?

I would contact the Eric helpline for advice on this.

Dear BabT , it can take the bowel a couple of weeks to settle down following a disimpaction, you may need to tweak the maintenance dose, based on the type of poo your child produces. Our helpline is open 10-2 Mon-Thursday or you can complete a web enquiry form eric.org.uk/helpline/ and receive email advice from one of the team. Best wishes, ERIC
