Hi Hollysarah. Our daughter is 14 and had this and all the problems associated with it since she w as three. For the last two years she was put on peristeen, a colonic irrigation system, by the consultant at the hospital. she still takes 1/2 sachets of cosmocol everyday and if she doesn't do a poo after tea she does peristeen, usually 3/4 times a week. She still has accidents, usually before peristeen but they are not huge and she has no more accidents at school. So things are a lot better but not perfect. Best wishes Sally
FWIW Mine is now 19 and still has the same persistent/recurrent constipation problems she had as a toddler. Plus mental health and physical-underdevelopment issues (we're currently waiting on another hospital appointment for the latter)
