wondering if anyone has any advice on the buzzer alarm. Iv just got one for my 8 year old girl. On the box it advised to watch a you tube video. On the video the mum wakes the child before she goes to bed by activating the alarm herself. Now I thought it was not a good idea to wake a child to go to the toilet and the point was to wake them when they wet so they learn to wake them myself before they wet.
Also I am putting pants on then a pull up over the top. I’m doing this to save washing ( nightmare get things dry at the moment ) has anyone else done this and had success?

Chiming in here - from our perspective it is not worth using the nappy as it risks the alarm not going off which means it may not work as a treatment. It is also best to avoid lifting or waking if possible. We want the alarm to go off every night as this will give it the best chance of working. A mattress protection on the bed or bed mats can replace nappies very well but understand these can be difficult to dry during winter and a heating crisis :(.
Have you ever done a DIY assessment of the all the wees and poos? The alarm is a very good treatment but it isn't always the right one to use - there are sometimes other options available. We have more information in our bedwetting factsheet eric.org.uk/advice-for-chil....
thanks for your reply! No I haven’t done a DIY assessment. Is that on your website? I have used the buzzer before with my eldest child and we were not to lift to go to the toilet when they were sleeping but this time it said to do it. Thanks for confirming not to lift.
Hi. We used the alarm for a while. Not sure it helped. My son wouldn’t get up (too sleepy). The washing is still a nightmare. He takes Molvicol but it happens at least twice a week. He is 9. I feel totally hopeless and so desperate to help him.
