Scared to poop! 😭😱

My little girl a couple of months back did a really large poop. It was massive!!! And because it was she was bleeding but because there was a lot more blood than I was expecting I panicked and took her to the walk in centre because doctors were closed. The blood was dripping down her leg it was loads. Now since then my little girl has been very scared too go again and will now hold it in, which is making her constipated. I have been to the docs and they gave her movical sachets because she was impacted and we followed the routine to make he go. Because the poop was so loose she was no longer scared so she went fine, we reduced the sachets dose and stopped them so that she could go back to normal and she has started to hold it in again and get scared again. 😱 she's terrified of it hurting and blood coming. I have explained that if she holds it then it will be worse but she's not listening. She just wants me to hold her hand and be with her. But she screams and cry for hours every day when it's time to go!

Is there any advise please? Books for kids or vitamins that might help?

Firstly when you disimpacted her did you reach watery stools with no lumps consistently for three days before you start reducing the doses down extremely slowly ie one sachet every three days until you reached a suitable maintenance dose to remain on? Secondly I would add a stimulant such as senna to the regime. Encourage regular toilet sits after every meal too.

I understand that withholding can take months to correct. My little one has been on movicol for months. When we try to talk to him he doesn't really listen and although we bought quite a few books none of them gave him the 'light bulb' moment. But what worked for him was a regular maintenance dose of movicol and potty sits after meals. He isn't scared now and we've slowly (really slowly) have been able to reduce his daily dose.

I appreciate Yaleamanda's comment that, because she was diagnosed as impacted, a full disimpaction (watery stool) is needed before you can go to a maintenance dose of movicol. I think you needed a maintenance dose of movicol rather than stopping it.
