Help with soiling

Hi. We have a daughter 11yrs old suspected asd. She has had bowel issues throughout her life with holding and refusing to use the toilet. She has been under a paediatrician for this problem for sometime but this bout of constipation has been going on for 5/6 months with soiling and hygiene. She refuses to take regular medication to help with this as to sensory and tummy ache and we have tried a number of things to get it into her. We have a paediatrician appointment next week but i dont know what they can do. She is supposed to start secondary school in September but the bowel issues are a real concern.

What medication have you tried so far. It sounds like you need to completely disimpact her due to the soiling.

So hard when they struggle with the meds xx I know people on here have said they’ve given movicol via all sorts of methods like jellies/ice pops etc. I guess it’s working out how best you can get the meds into her. My son prefers Senna tablets to the liquid. He also takes bisocodyl tablet which he prefers because it’s very small and easy to swallow. He’s ok with movicol thank goodness. For my son the meds have deffo been the key (alongside drinking 2/3 litres a day)
