Hi Kerry,
I'm sorry to hear your daughter is constipated. There are lots of different laxatives your GP could suggest and whilst Lactulose has its place, the best one for children with constipation is usually a Macrogol laxative such as Movicol, Cosmacol or Laxido. Your GP could then help you to complete a clear-out known as a disimpaction, and you could use our factsheet on disimpacting as a guide - eric.org.uk/pdf-a-parents-g...
