First time posting.....and hoping someone can point me in right direction. My 8yr old seems to be constantly wetting himself. Whether he’s at school or at home, you can guarantee he will have damp or saturated pants and sometimes trousers. It’s becoming a problem as my partner doesn’t understand why he is doing it. When we have spoken to him he says it’s because he doesn’t want to miss anything. Sometimes he’ll hold onto it u til the last minute. About 2yrs ago we had to do an emergency dash to a&e because of constipation. Could this all be connected??? Please any advice for a worn out mum is appreciated

Constipation can cause wetting accidents. We've been through that. Might be worth getting him checked out by the GP. If he's holding onto his wee for a while it doesn't sound like an overactive bladder. Get him checked out to put your mind at rest.
Can I ask how you went about it? When I’ve spoken to GP about it previously they have said he’ll grow out of it. He’s a holder and we have tried all sorts to stop that.
I would go to a different GP or a local Paediatric Continence Nurse if you have one. There's not a lot of support out there for incontinent children. We've had to fight a lot of the way. If he's constipated or a with holder he won't grow out of it. He will need some help. Perhaps try some Senekot which will push the poo out as it's a stimulant. Xxx
