My 7 year old daughter originally withheld at school one week earlier in the year which caused her to be constipated. Fast forward through 3 disimpactions we found a maintenance dose of 1 sachet a day but in August we went abroad and her stools started to get loose so we thought due to the weather, increase in fluids, fruit and veg intake etc we would reduce to half a sachet but when that didn’t help we ended up stopping the second week we were away.
She was having her bowels opened every 1-2 days type 4-5, knowing she wanted to go and no soiling it was amazing!
Now last week we went to stay with my parents, by the Wednesday I realised she’d only been once in 3 days and then began to soil again so I started giving her laxido 2-3 times a day for a few days. She then went again and went the Friday and Sunday when we got home (Type 4 no soiling) but now this last 3-4 days we have had soiling every day plus stools in the toilet. She hasn’t known she was soiling and it’s like thick chocolate around her bottom with bits in again! I just don’t understand it! We were fine and she had her routine of sitting on the toilet and when we were at my parents.
Does this mean we need to disimpact again? The last disimpaction was perfect as in I increased it added senna and reduced slowly after rusty water so why has this happened again from knowing she wants to go? I have also reduced her dairy which definitely helped. I’m at my wits end and don’t know what to do or where to turn
