Hi, iv just joined ( should have 3 years ago) my 5 year old daughter has regressed to withholding and soiling just this last week after 6 months of doing really well. I’m gutted and just looking for any advice, if anyone has been through or going through the same. Currently on 2-4 laxido and 3x5mls docusate daily.

Hi yes were in the same boat withholds no feeling chronic constipation. Since the age of two mths. Under continence team hv and peads.

Also up her sachets she allowed up to 8 a day but slowly 22 44 66 88 that's what we do for disimpaction then slowly reduce 88 66 44 then what your Dr told u to stick at senna 2.5 am 2.5 pm.my lg when she constipated she loses energy she don't eat just sleeps has a high temperature with it.20 mins of exercise daily helps too.

Hi misty10, how old is your daughter? Can I ask if youv had a good spell the regressed? I’m so frustrated we were doing well at last and now this 😩 xx

She is nearly 4 years old end of August. Had chronic constipation since age of 2 mths. Lots of meds and massarges still the same on her third disimpaction in may was on eight sachets a day.aswell as senna 5 mls a day.not really until the bowel goes back to normal size I feel it be like this for a very long time.she has no feeling. I'm dreading her starting school Sept. Mentally she do it but not physically. Xx

The struggle is real isn’t it.. who knew it could be so bad? I had no idea so many children had this problem. My daughter starts school in August and I’m worried about it too. Iv got a meeting with the teacher on Monday so hopefully that goes well. Have you had a chance to meet the teacher? Xx

Yes just waiting on dates to confirm. School senco, school nurse my hv and a Dr letter.

I use to let it get to me and it git me down. I found Eric in January and haven't look back made great friends for advice and support. We're all in the same boat.xx

Same, it really got me down for a while. When we ended up in hospital for a week I felt so much support from the nurses , doctors and also family. I think they then realised it’s not lack of toilet training or choosing not to go it’s an actual real problem. I’m feeling a bit crap ( for lack of a better word 😂) this week since we’ve went back a step but glad I found this place. Good to know we’re not alone xx
