I was talking to my son today about why he still messes in his pants and doesn't say. The response I got has baffled me. He said to me he finds it more comfortable when he has messed in his pants. Any ideas how you overcome this.

Son finds it comfortable when he has messed in his pants!!!!!
In my experience with my son, if he said that to me it would probably be his way of saying “it doesn’t bother me” when really it does. I think the whole thing can be very shameful.
The other alternative is that he likes the feeling because of sensory reasons or that he’s pretty oblivious to it and doesn’t really notice.
The important thing is to deal with the underlying cause ie the constipation or the dosage of meds and the behaviour will sort itself out
When I messed my pants as a child, I wouldn't say that I found them more comfortable than clean pants, but I didn't find them particularly uncomfortable either and I got used to sitting in my own poo as it was such a frequent occurrence.
I agree with Robinia, pretending that he likes the feeling when he has messed in his pants could be a way of coping with shameful feelings that he has. There were several reasons why I chose not to tell anyone when I'd pooed myself, and I write about them in this post in my blog, 'Staying in Messy Pants', which you may find useful:
My lg the same but she has no feeling down below. It's horrible for them. xx
