My daughter is almost 4. She has been toilet trained for 7/8 months but recently over the last couple of weeks has started soiling. It happens both at home and preschool. On the Bristol chart it is picture number 6 so mostly mushy. She says she doesn’t know its coming when she has soiled. Could this be overflow? She used to be good at saying and going for a poo before

unfortunately yes her symptoms are identical to those of my daughter, I took my daughter to the GP and specialist and we found out that she was impacted after X-rays and markers tests to check her digestive system. So now I am on 2 weeks Movicol (up to 6 sachet a day) starting gradually from 2. My heart goes to you. He also prescribes sodium picosulfate 5 ml x day
Hi, yes I agree, this also sounds exactly the same as my daughter's symptoms when she started. She started soiling her underwear during the day and said she wasn't aware of it. This gradually got worse until she got impacted and is now on movicol daily. My heart goes out to you too its awful thing to go through xx
Thank you. I will get her checked at the GP’s. My only trouble is she is extremely shy and completely breaks down at the idea of going to the doctors. Not sure how well it is going to go.
It sounds very much like constipation. Good luck at the doctors, hope it goes okay! Just be aware that the GPs don't always feel when children are impacted (a couple of doctors reassured me my son was fine when actually he was very impacted!). But it's definitely worth a visit. Have you spoken to the Eric helpline? They could talk you through disimpaction etc. X
