18 month old severe constipation

Hello all i am new on here but wanted to get advice for my 18 month old

She has never been able to pass her stools easily even as a newborn and has been on half a packet of movicol per day since she was 6months old. However there are still days she cannot go even on the medicine.

Doctor has refererred us to bowel clinic but was wondering if there was anything else i could do to try and help her go more easily.

Any advice greatly appreciated
