My son is 4.5 and has been suffering from withholding since he was 1 year old. We have been seeing a Pediatrician at the hospital for months now, he has been on movicol all these years, he refused to sit on the toilet or do poo normally without shouting and jumping. We kept a toilet routine for him to sit on the toilet twice or three times a day; and the surprise!!!!!! He pooed in the toilet for the first time ever, and since then it is just as normal. He is very happy and I still can not believe it. This post is for everyone here, to say to you that one day things will change for you and little ones. We were beyond desperate before this. Be optimistic, good things are coming, if this happens to me; it will happen to you too xxxxxxx

Good news after all
Thank you for posting, so wonderful to hear of your son’s success 😁 it gives me hope for my 9.5 year old!!! ☺️
Thank you for posting this. And congratulations, amazing effort.
I find I am on this site less and less these days as my daughter is nearly 8 and the stressful days of angst and worry that I know many of you experience are becoming, slowly, a thing of the past.
After years of soiling/withholding issues my daughter is too, coming out the other end.
As the original post highlights so well, it can get better just hang in there x
Great to hear a success story - gives us all hope that things will come right in the end (fingers crossed!)
Great to hear! Well done to your son
Congratulations!!
My three and a half year old has a similar story. Took ages then one day it was OK. It's so stressful in the midst of it but one day they do it!
