Havent posted for a while as we have been waiting and waiting and waiting. Finially went to an appointment where they did something other then me sitting there repeating over and over my daughters daytime wetting problems. So my daughter went for a scan and needed a full bladder which as she cant control her bladder was an achievement in its self. She is holding around 130ml which is an improvement but then had to wee on the flow thing and was rescaned which showed she isnt emptying properly and her flow isnt 'normal' but dont know yet what that means as i am waiting for a phone call to tell me. What incentives do people use to keep their kids going? My 6yr old is getting so annoyed with it all she now has to do double wees every 90 mins and drink so much and she still wets herself. We still dont actually know whats wrong. Has anyone else has emptying issues and abnormal flow? Oh and she has now been taken off oxybutynin. Feel we r getting no where!!!

Hi,

Yes my 10 year old son has this. It’s called dysfunctional voiding, I was told that basically his pelvic floor muscles work too well. We are now waiting for an appointment for bio feedback training, where they re train these muscles. It’s just the wait times between each appointment that are so frustrating. He has been told to sit on the toilet every time he wee’s as this allows the muscles to relax more. Just be thankful at 6 years old you have already been told this. We only found this out as my son turned 10, (everyone said he would put grow it!) you are several years ahead and hopefully your daughter won’t still be in this situation at 10. Good luck!
