Hi all - I'm new here and after some advice for my daughter. Shes currently between paediatricians (Is being transferred to one with more specialist knowledge) so I cant ask them and our GPs have been useless.

My daughter has been diagnosed with an exceptionally small bladder and until the end of last year was being prescribed oxybuytnin, which worked well in helping her, but has been taken off that as they believe the persistent UTIs shes been having (caused by the small bladder they think) have done some damage to her kidneys, and that, in turn, has effected her growth. We won't see the new paed. until the end of March and while shes on no medication she has no bladder control. This obviously makes school for her very hard. Has anyone any tips on how to help her manage this. She wears incontinence pads but they dont stop leaks for her.

Thanks in advance :)

Constant UTIs at such a young age must be incredibly painful for her. And to have method that's been working taken away even for the right reasons must be frustrating. Have you spoken to the Eric team or looked on eric.org.uk as I know they have products which might help with the wetting that might be different in some way than the ones you currently use and help to reduce leaking.

Im affraid I'm not much use otherwise and hope you get some answers and help from others whom have similar issues.

Although we've not yet seen a consultant, I understand the possible feeling of being in limbo.

Does your daughter take her own bag into school with supplies? Could school make sure someone reminds your daughter to go to the toilet at regular intervals?

Oh bless you both how awful for you. Terrible that you have to wait so long. I was looking on the Eric website the other day (sound like an advert for them!!) and the they have incontinence knickers for children but they cost a lot of money. Otherwise there are the older children's night time Pullups. Again not cheap. Couldn't the nurse at your Gps get you something? Good luck xx
