You may in fact be having daily am erections but some may be too slight to notice

"Morning" erections, more accurately REM-sleep-related night-time erections (they can occur several times during the night unnoticed because you are asleep) are of course "normal." As we age, the consistency and frequency may lessen. In my 50s I would have morning wood off and on when I awoke. Now at 69, post-prostatectomy, extremely rarely. Also, as Tall_Allen relates, you may have some tumescence (fullness) without actual hardness. I often feel "full" in my penis, that is, slightly tumescent. In short, enjoy them! They are a sign that you have some erectile ability (assuming you have ED right now).
