Ramipril

I have recently had ramipril medication increased to lower my blood pressure. Since this I have been suffering from double vision and been unsteady on my feet each time for a few hours after taking my epilepsy medicine. Has anyone else had this sort of problem?

These symptoms are well-documented side-effects of Ramipril, as you will see if you check the PIL. Have a word with your GP who should be able to prescribe an alternative.

Hi Darie

Communicating with people on here, is a really good idea. So, I hope you hear from others in this community soon.

In the meantime, I have used the British National formulary to see if I could find any interactions between Ramipril and epilepsy medicine. I was unable to find information that ramipril interacts with any epilepsy medicine. Please use this link and look for the epilepsy medicine you are taking. bnf.nice.org.uk/drugs/ramip...

Ramipril can cause dizziness and blurred vision according to the NHS website. nhs.uk/medicines/ramipril/s...

It would be best to discuss this with your pharmacist. They can double check any interactions. And maybe give you advice on when to take your medicine to help minimise the side-effects you are experiencing.

Regards

Diane
