hiii i don’t know if many people here will know about the month of ramadan where us muslims will be fasting. i’ve not kept these fasts for several years due to the timing of them - they’re very long. i take medication for diabetes and epilepsy. this year i really want to try but my medicine times will change a lot. i will be taking my epilepsy ones at 4am instead of 11am. and my nighttime ones at 6pm instead of 10pm. a big difference in the timing. does that matter as long as i do take the tablets?sorry for the essay. any replies would be much appreciated. already spoken to doctor 🤐

Hi Junny123
We have some information on fasting during Ramadan on our website that you may find helpful. epilepsy.org.uk/living/dail...
Researchers think some of the biggest risks during Ramadan might come from changes in the timings of when you take your epilepsy medicine and having disturbed sleep. If you are making changes to the times you take your medicine or are likely to get less sleep, it’s a good idea to get advice from your doctor or epilepsy specialist nurse about the best ways to manage these risks.

Hi Junny
God is so merciful , it is not permissible for you to fast when you have a medical condition. It is says this in the Quran. What you do is pay Fidya £3 to £5 a day to feed 2 poor people for everyday you didn’t fast.
I don’t think it would be a sensible thing to do to mess around with your medication as this will play havoc with your seizures. There are plenty of advice on Islamic.org and other websites if you google it. I hope this helps.
