Which side? What's the exact cause? An MR scan will pinpoint the tissue/structural damage which is causing your seizures. Ask. If you don't get a satisfactory answer, take the scans to another specialist. It's the exact cause which determines which medication you get.
Interesting. Thank you!
TLE doesn't necessarily comes with MRI (visible) lesions Therefore, an MRI can and in many cases does comes back clean, though it remains the imaging method of choice.
Sometimes a SPECT scan can better hint towards a perfusion issue, and sometimes an stereo-EEG might pinpoint a possible structural lesion, as detailed procedures.
But the basis attempt to a diagnosis should be based on the characteristics of the disease, imagistic (long term video-EEG, an MRI) bloodwork (looking for infectious, acute, immunological, metabolic causes etc) and CF analysis
Hi,Everybody reacts differently to medication. I take Keppra and feel the best I have ever been. I have taken other medications which have left me with side effects.
I have had TL seizures for many years which have changed in severity during the different stages of a females life. I still have them, approx 7 per month.
Be positive and you'll get through life.
