So sorry to hear this, it’s horrendous for all of your family.Right question;
What dosage is he on, how long as he been on Keppra & finally as he had them since birth?
Sending love & light to your family xxx
Hi there, I'm sorry to hear your step grandson is having seizures, this must be a worrying time for you all.
I hope Keppra (levetiracetam) works quickly for your grandson. But because people respond individually to medicines it isn't possible to say how long it takes for medicines to work for epilepsy. And sometimes a different medicine or more than one medicine needs to be tried.
We have some information about epilepsy in babies on our website which may be helpful to read: epilepsy.org.uk/info/childr.... This explains a little more about types of seizures you might see, diagnosing epilepsy in babies and treatments.
You'd also be welcome to call and talk to one of us at the Helpline ( epilepsy.org.uk/info/suppor... if it would help to talk things through. Our number is freephone 0808 800 5050. Our helpline is open Monday to Tuesday 8.30am until 7.00pm, Wednesday to Friday 8.30am until 4.30pm and Saturday 10.00am until 4.00pm.

Hi , I’m sorry to hear about your grandson.
Keppra worked pretty quickly for my daughter but she’s almost 4. Medication will react differently to each person . I do hope the seizures become under control soon though. Lots of love x
Hi I’m sorry to hear about your step grandson. I was diagnosed with epilepsy and took tegretol. On the whole it worked well and actually had a period of no seizures for 3 years at primary school. As a young adult I was on keppra I found it controlled seizure well enough but made me very lethargic and poor concentration and memory. Though everyone responds differently but I would advise to give it a chance to get into the system
