Hello, my name is Julie, where I live is very country, and I've had 2 grand mal seizures and a few smaller ones.

i'm wondering what an EEG really shows?

And I got a print out of the time I was hospitalized after second major seizure, it shows 65 mg of phenobarbital twice a day.. that cant be right? Right?

An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a recording of brain activity. During the test, small sensors are attached to the scalp to pick up the electrical signals produced when brain cells send messages to each other. These signals are recorded by a machine and are looked at by a doctor later to see if they're unusual.

As for the 65mg of Phenobarbital twice per Day. Is that what you've been prescribed, or what You're taking...

It was in my medical records from being hospitalized

My daughter has had sezuires. What milktrayman2 said, is right on. Phenbarbital is used to help control sezuires. I am sorry you are going thru this, I know it sucks. Keep us posted on how you are doing.
