Reading books in full

Does anyone else have trouble reading books? Lots of friends and programmes on tv talk about how good they find certain ones. I'm unable to read fiction because after reading the first page I've forgotten what I read and have to read it again. Frustrating. I'd love to be able to read them.

I'm beginning to find that myself, I have JMEpilepsy, am a genealogist/historical researcher, used to earn my living reading, but lately finding now very hard to concentrate, is it long term side effects of the medication, or early dementia? I am 64 years old! Could it be, hopefully, a side effect of being in COVID isolation for so long, and I really need to get out more, get the grey cells working again🤞😗

I think it's the epilepsy. I have temporal lobe. When I was at school I struggled which made it difficult to answer questions in front of the class. This led to bullying because I was classed as an idiot

Yes its like a cloud in the brain, you know it's there but it's an absolute blank, then a couple of minutes later, or even longer sometimes, it comes back! I feel getting a spoon in the brain to get the 'cloud' out? 🤬
