So my son is 4 and we have just been told he has epilepsy but we are only at the beginning we know that he has 2 types and only has silent seizures but can become unwell with sickness and tiredness thought the day.
i'm just wondering if there is anyone else who has been though this with there child and knows what to expect?
and with school what do they need to put into place ? after the school nurse does a risk assessment is there anything i need to do for them?

It's very hard when your child is diagnosed with epilepsy.
I myself was diagnosed at 16 and daughter at 14.
The school put in a care plan for her, she and 1 friend was allowed to leave class 5 minutes early so they could get to the next class also they allowed her to use the lift until she was on her controlled medication.
Has the doctors said if this is permanent or is there a chance he'll grow out of it?
I've heard that sometimes under the age of 5 children can grow out of it.
Both my daughter and I have grand mal seizures but these are well controlled by medication.
If we can be of any more help, please feel free to contact the Epilepsy Action Helpline freephone 0808 800 5050. Our helpline is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am until 5.30pm.
