Worried mum

I just came from therapy and my daughter started convulsing, which real shocked me because it has been long time since she convulsed. In the therapy she cried a lot and when the doctor finished the therapy she went to a deep sleep. What really course her to convulsed.

This is an extremely hard question if not impossible one to answer. Epilepsy will as you know kick in suddenly right out of the blue. Yes fear, anxiety sadness can be contributory factors but you don't need me to tell you, that after going free of epilepsy for a long period of time that epilepsy can and often does come back.

I hope that your daughter gets better as soon as possible

Hi.

That must have been very unsettling to see your daughter to have a seizure after a long time. I wonder if she has dissociative (non-epileptic) seizures? epilepsy.org.uk/info/diagno...

If so the therapy could have explored some difficult emotions which resulted in the seizure.

But here is all our information about possible seizure triggers:

epilepsy.org.uk/info/triggers

Depending on your daughter’s age, you or she may want contact the epilepsy nurse is there is one, or ask the GP for a referral back to the neurologist.

Regards

Cherry
