does epilepsy affect my being a gas engineer
Dear benbeard
Most jobs, including gas engineering, are possible for people with epilepsy. It all depends on things like your seizure type, seizure frequency, and any health and safety risks. If you are still having seizures and it’s possible you may have one in college or working hours, this may affect your ability to do this work safely. So a risk assessment should be carried out to look identify any risks to you or other people should you have a seizure while working.
From this assessment there may be some reasonable adjustments suggested so that you can do the work safely. Any future employer should do their best to make sure that you are not put at a disadvantage because of your epilepsy. However, health and safety will be the priority.

If you haven’t already, may wish to talk to the college where the course is carried out.
