My 15 year old is on 1500mg Keppra and 900mg Trileptal twice daily

he is now on his max level of Keppra but experiences hot flushes and 'itchy' periods where his skin feels as if it's burning. Anyone else experienced similar?

I have never taken Trileptal before but am on Keppra currently. The only time I experienced something similar was when I was on dual therapy ( been on 1 type only for last few years) I had the skin itching, hot flushes, restless legs on occasion too. In part at the time it was because I hadn't been strict enough with my meds (I was only a few years diagnosed and still in some denial) by not taking regularly my body never adjusted properly. Had to get thru the worse bit to get to the best bit. But also I was not reacting great to the combination. Speak to your specialist nurse or neurologist. Gp is great but best have only one person managing the dose and type taken. The specialist is best. I recently had my first visit with a specialist nurse, 16 years later... Moved around ps a bit and never been able to before. Was fantastic to talk plainly about my condition and tablet issues. I am sure you are monitoring your son and his med taking, but worth checking all are being taken when they should be. I was 19 when I had my first seizure and not taking my meds was an act of defiance and refusal to give in. Took a seizure that dislocated my shoulder completely to wake me up a bit.
