Has anyone experienced extreme wind/colic... - Endometriosis UK
Has anyone experienced extreme wind/colic like pain around their period? I've had it for 3 months since starting fertility treatment. Thanks!
Hi I'm not on fertility treatment but do suffer with wind. I was actually up in the middle of the night with such stomach pain and it was wind ! It' s normally before or during it gets me and for some reason in the middle of the night! I don't know if its a reaction to the painkillers or just another symptom but it is very painful until I get it out. Good luck with your treatment and I know peppermint cordial helps with trapped wind so if you get it the same time each month it might be worth a try! There's also peppermint tea or tablets I'm about to get some ready for the trapped wind after my lap as I know it helps for that.
Hi Lillyflower,
Thanks for your reply. Oh poor you, it sounds like we both had a bad night! I've actually made a GP appointment today as maybe they can prescribe something like Buscopan which is meant to stop intestinal cramps in IBS. I had some peppermint tea this morning and also some warm water last night but until the wind comes out it's just literally a pain!
Unfortunately IVF drugs can sometimes make endometriosis worse so I'm hoping that's not the reason for the pain.
Best of luck with your lap
xx
Hi good plan I'm sure the doc should be able to answer your question and give you something to help! And it will be worth a few pains if it means the IVF works for you! Wishing you lots of luck I'm hoping to find out if babies will be possible after my lap next week after not having any luck so far. Fingers crossed for you xx
Thanks! Best of luck to you too. I'm reading a great book at the mo called The Baby Making Bible by Emma Cannon. I'd recommend it if you're interested in finding out more info on improving general health/fertility and using complimentary therapies.
Good luck xx
Hi thanks, I'm having my tubes checked and a hysteroctopy too to see why I've not conceived aswell as looking for endo so I'm desperate for answers to pains and hoping to find out if babies are an option. Once I know the results I'm sure ill start looking into this more. Thanks for the info and wishing you lots of luck x I have been having accupuncture which has helpedand can help with IVF from what I've read, can be expensive but I'm willing to try anything!
Hi Lillyflower,
Hang in there, it's horrible having to go through an op but at least you'll know what's going on. The medical team will be able to explain what they've seen/what they recommend and you can arm yourself with a bit more info then
I'm glad you're having acupuncture, I think it's great and has made a big difference to how I feel. Hope it's doing something for you too!
Best of luck with everything xx
