How do you cope with the pain? I am struggling at the moment & feel so alone. Painkillers don't seem to be helping it this time.

Dear Ashley,

So sorry to hear you are struggling, sending you some hugs.

It is really hard to manage the pain sometimes - perhaps you could contact your GP as soon as possible to speak to them about your pain relief? Maybe there are different painkillers you can try? Pain is a very personal thing and different things suit different people - it is really worth talking to a doctor about it.

Personally, I also find hot baths and things like heat pads helpful. Are you able to sleep at all with the pain?

I know it is very hard but you're not alone - there are lots of people out there who can support and help you through this. We are here for you on this board and there are also support groups that you can go to - see the Endo UK website for details. I hope there is one near you.

I hope you feel better soon, please let us know how you are doing. Take good care and be kind to yourself.

Hi Ashley

I am really sorry that you are having a hard time at the moment, Like carol suggested it may be worth a visit to your dr to explain that you are still experiencing alot of pain despite taking pain relief

Whilst hot baths ,heat pads etc dont take my pain away they do help to soothe the pain and allow me to relax a little more

I hope things ease for you asap, take care xxxx

So sorry to hear you are suffering.

I was prescribed co dydramol which kept it. manageable. I combined this with baths as hot as I could stand them, with candles and aromatherapy to sooth the mind as much as my stomach. I used 2-3 hot water bottle back and front made myself a nest and rested. At its worst it is really exhausting so rest as much as you can.

at work - fortunately my old boss was really supportive but I now run a business from home- so I could go and have little lie downs at work staff level permitting. Heat pads and hot water bottles (if your not in a customer facing area) helped at work.Relax as much as you can as much of the battle is mental and do whatever soothes you.

very best wishes c

Hi, I suffer from severe endo and I find udos oil helps as it has a fantastic anti inflammatory effect. Also helps balance hormones too. Tastes disgusting but it's more effective than any pain killers I've taken. Take about 4 days to see any major benefit. Plus a bonus...your skin feels like silk!

Do some research on google about it as it's been used in medical studies for various diseases ie diabetes and the results amazing.

Hope this helps x

I have been taking Diclofenac - 2 lots of 25mg three times a day. Still doesn't shift the pain. I am almost permanently attached to my hot water bottle!

Laparoscopy in a few weeks... Terrified but determined to get this thing under control .

Hi AshleyJ, so sorry to hear about your pain.

For my pain, I had Tranexamic Acid and Mefenamic Acid prescribed for me and it worked wonders! Suggest them to your doc. (My consultant suggested them for me not my doc.)

I have my days back where I can actually walk properly and don't have to tip-toe around my house during my period. I can touch my stomach and give myself a little comfort rub, also it's not as swollen as it used to be. I can also 'go to the loo' (I suffer from IBS also) and it's a lot easier let me tell you! No more bouts of sweating and stressful times in the bathroom for me :)

These tablets may help you but as we all know we're all very different and what may work for one may not necessarily work for the other. Also, drink a lot more fluids. I didn't want to move out of bed before due to the pain but realised that the lack of fluid in my body was aggravating the movement in my bowels which in turn aggravated my womb/uterous and the pain all around that area. Also, eat more fruit and veg. Believe it or not, it all helps with our immune system and how our bodies deal with the pain.

Ashley, I hope you get the help you need. Let us know how you get on.

Thanks

M1ssy
