Hi Conker

Is it possible to ask your consultant to stay on the decap injections for longer? I know previously these injections were limited to just six months but some hospitals are willing to adapt this if their patient is benefitting from the treatment. Thats if you are feeling well on this type of treatment?

Hi LittleMissManx,i will ask on Monday as i do feel better on decep, cant wait to see if the fibroids have shrunk!, i have put weight on and im having flushes and swets, but its worth it if they have.

I had prostap <same effect as decap> for 9 months so it is possible to have more than the recommended 6 months worth. Like you I battled through hot flushes and night sweats but overall I did feel better as the treatment reduced the debilitating abdominal and ovarian cyst pain.

Of course your consultant may have other options for you when you have your appointment but good luck on Monday :)

well try the Depo provera injection as the decapt can cause problems with bones... but ask your gynae for more information...
