Yes definitely as I was bit complacent and we now have our second son who is adorable and 16 months. So yes if not tyring you still need full contraception. My endometriosis went away the for 22months but back now with a vengeance.

Yes you defo can and it's NOT advisable! The nurse should have warned you to use contraception and it can possibly cause problems to the baby if you did whilst on this injection.

You know when you hear about these women who have 'miracle babies' when they're in the menopause? It's because we all react to changing hormone levels differently. Theoretically, Prostap should shut the system right down, but in practice that doesn't always happen, or it takes a while to happen, and so ovulation just carries on regardless

But as Chels said, it is generally a very bad idea because the health risks to the baby are huge.

Before I had my Mirena put in, we had to use condoms, which was awful because we were trying so hard for a baby at that point and even though I knew that falling pregnant on Prostap would be a disaster, it felt as though we were 'wasting' 6 months every time I had to go on it.

There are exceptions, as northangelwills' beautiful boy has proved, but you should have been told by the person who prescribed the Prostap to you that you must use effective contraception while you're on it.

Definetely be very careful, it's very difficult to name your baby as an accident, but yes it was the case for us of him being a suprise... We were absolutely shocked to find we were pregnant as We thought we'd been very careful because we were aware of the risks, and that led to nine months of worry... My son had reflux 4 9months and who knows if his oesophegus was slightly affected, you just can't say, he may of just been a terrible breast feeder, but my 1st son had no issues at all.

Best of luck
