I think I have Endometriosis

I have been on the progestogen only pill for about 15 years. I am not in a relationship and decided I don't want to take it anymore.

I stopped about 6 months ago, and since then I've been having increasing severe joint pain, particularly my hips. Usually around my period and the days after is when it's really bad. This week just gone has been the worst so far. There's also been fatigue and I've been so depressed.

I've tried to make an appointment with a GP, waiting for someone to get back to me.

I hadn't really put anything together until I started researching while waiting to hear from the Drs. That's when I realised the pain is linked to my cycle.

I suspected I might have Endometriosis in the past. The reason I went on the pill in the first place was that my periods were hell. I would wake up in the middle of the night in so much pain, nothing would touch it. I would usually end up being sick and the pain would subside.

I suppose I'm wondering if this sounds similar to anyone else?

I didn't really want to go back on the pill but at this point I'm thinking I'll have to.

Hi oh it does sound like endo with the symptoms you are saying ask your go to ref to a endo specialist vecause if you go to a general gyane they will then have to ref on to the endo specialist so more waiting good luck

It sounds quite likely that you might have endometriosis. Ask to be referred to gynaecology. It will help if you have read up on endo a bit and are able to detail your symptoms, Going back on the pill might help with symptoms but you need a diagnosis and possibly treatment such as a laparoscopy. Xx
