I started young and had my first at 21 as I was told pregnancy would stop my painful debilitating periods. Then tried for the next which took me 2 years. I began to give up. I think if I didn’t start young it would have been too late. I wasn’t diagnosed until aged 39 then had a hysterectomy. Have you seen a specialist? Wishing you all the best xx

I have a friend who fell pregnant 3 times. Her 3rd pregnancy happened by accident just before she was due to have her hysterectomy they found out she was pregnant. It can happen!

I believe I’ve had endo and adeno for at least 10-12 years and I also have two kids so I think it’s possible to still fall pregnant with the disease x

yes I had 4 children and suffered from early on when first started my periods at 11, but only diagnosed when I was in my late 30’s with endo, offered me the womb ablastation when it first came out but I said no, ended up going through early menopause due to another condition I have not endo, so just as well I said no. Try not to worry too much it will happen when it’s meant too lovely, good luck and best wishes xx

yes I have 3 children, with easy pregnancies and labour, it did take me a while to fall up to a year with my second but my 3rd only took once (drunken Easter weekend ☺️)

Hey

I did not manage to fall pregnancy naturally with endometriosis. After trying for 15 months we went down the ivf route and we were successful on our first transfer. I’m now 17 weeks pregnant! I worried about it for years before I started trying and now I look back and think I was going to end up with IVF anyway! I think it’s 20% of endometriosis sufferers require fertility assistance. If you get to 1 year with no success then please go to your GP.

All the best x

Thank you for your reply. We’ve been trying for two years. I’m waiting on a laparoscopy but just feeling a bit hopeless. And I was told by my gynaecologist that if I wait for ivf on the nhs it may be too late.

I guess it depends where you live as to the waiting times! You should deffs get your husbands sperm tested by his GP in the meantime as we did this and then realised there was no point trying naturally anymore. With my endometriosis and my husband having 0% sperm morphology, it was extremely unlikely to happen. We ended up going private for IVF. Nhs success rate at the one near us was 30% vs our London private clinic at 70%. No regrets because it did work first time albeit we’ll have no savings now for maternity but that’s just how it went for us. What I would say is I was so nervous about ivf and actually it wasn’t too bad for us. The trying for months on end and it not working was mentally much harder for me personally. Fingers crossed for you xx

Thank you. That gives me some reassurance because I’m worried about ivf. Yes I agree the trying and nothing happening has been very hard. My partners sperm is ok we got that checked. My egg count is lower than average. But they’ve said to wait for laparoscopy which is 6-8 months away.

You could ask nhs or get a private consultation to confirm whether it’s going to make a difference having a laparoscopy or not. I know on the nhs gynaecology can write to the fertility clinic to get their view. Nhs endometriosis hospital local to me also prioritise fertility patients for surgery over non fertility patients. Also maybe keep pestering them every week for cancellations. Good luck xx

Yes. I’m thinking will get a private consultation just to see what my options are. Thank you for your help.

Came here for the comments as I was going to ask the same thing as I’m giving up hope - but noted you are going to have a laparoscopy. I had a laparoscopy and was given letrozole to ovulate. Fell pregnant my third cycle after the laparoscopy. Good luck xx
