morning.
I had a laparoscopy 3 weeks ago. They described the surgery as significant abdominal surgery. The surgeon said you could barely see my pelvis through the vast amount of adhesions which were sticking my bowel, bladder, uterus and ovaries together. She could well understand why I had so much pain (which made me feel validated). Unfortunately they nicked my bladder so I had to have a catheter in for 2 weeks which wasn’t great but these things happen. I also had an ovary removed along with a fallopian tube on my left side. The surgeon thinks that when I had my cyst removed about 5 years ago and it burst, what was left from that fused everything together.
It was big surgery and taking me a while to feel normal. The bottom part of my abdomen is sore. I guess that’s internal bruising from all they did. I also get a sharp stabbing pain when I need the toilet (though I can’t always go). I’m guessing this is my bowel getting back to normal and feels pain when I have poo in there. Pain killers don’t help as it’s not constant. I also don’t like taking pain killers as they cause constipation which would make the issue worse. Instead I’ve decided to try a high protein low fibre diet. Google seems to suggest this is best after bowel surgery. Protein to help heal and low fibre so less bull to go through the bowels. I have Laxido twice a day to help aswell. Guess I just need time.
Does anyone else have any ideas on making the bowel recover to help with this pain?
