my journey has begun
HiI thought I would offer my experience of a hysteroscopy that I had a few years ago.
They prepare you in the same way as a smear, then they guide a rod thing with a very small camera attached into your womb area at the same time there is saline solution being pumped in.
The camera is used to take a good live close up footage of the inside of your womb and womb lining to check for abnormalities like growths (polys or fibroids). If a growth is found, they can sometimes remove there and then with LA injection.
Often during hysteroscopy they will also take a small sample of womb lining tissue for biopsy.
The process feels pinchy and period painy, take pain relief an hour before your appointment.
Hope this helps
Hi Rkipling25
Sorry to hear you're feeling a little lost - we're all here to support you through this and it's lovely that Booty42 has reached out to you already with her experience. Along with our forum we also have face-to-face support groups all over the UK, where you can talk about endometriosis and the issues you are facing with other sufferers. Details of the groups can be found here: endometriosis-uk.org/find-a...
If you can't find a group in your area then we also have an online support group, which is separate to our forum.
Wishing you all the best with your forthcoming hysteroscopy - take care x
