Hi all, I've only just started my journey into suspecting I have endometriosis.
I have always had painful periods, sometimes it would be mostly large clots (especially during high school) and was told this was normal.
I don't really notice any symptoms when I'm not on my period but after talking to some people about my symptoms I was advised to search into endometriosis. I have a few hours maybe every month or two (always on my period) where I am dizzy, hot flushes, painful need to go to the toilet. After that feeling goes away come painful shock cramps or shivers, and the only way I can really describe it is I feel like the epicentre is my womb/uterus area and that it feels like it may burst. All I can do in this time is lie down and wait for it to be over.
I understand some people have pains all through their cycle, so I'm not sure in that sense for me. But it gets me thinking surely this pain I feel can't be normal and when I look at the symptoms I feel this almost every month.
I have gone to my doctor about it, recently had an ultrasound and I'm waiting for results but during the scan I was told "nothing looks abnormal". I feel relieved thinking it almost likely is endometriosis but I also fear it might take a while until I am definitely told.

Hi hobbitty and welcome, we are all her to support you and each other. The symptoms you are describing are strong indicators of Endometriosis but only a medical professional can confirm that. In the meantime please take a look at the information that we provide on:
Hello! Not to be discouraging because it may not be the case, but more often than not it takes years of going backwards and forwards to your GP and gynae etc to have a definitive diagnosis. For some people, that's super important and validating, others may be happy with a suspected diagnosis if their symptoms are under control. We're all different! You've obviously gone to your doctor because you feel something isn't right, and a "normal" US doesn't mean there's nothing wrong and it very well could be endo from the symptoms you've described. The only thing I can say is stay strong and keep pushing for a diagnosis, and more importantly, treatment so you can continue with your life as normally as possible. Good luck with everything!
