Hey,

I wrote a post a few weeks ago about the most patronising thoracic surgeon, this is a follow up.

I did plan on putting in a complaint against the doctor I saw., whilst I was dealing with that I really wanted to get a second opinion so I was willing to pay for a private consultation (Scotland) so I call the private clinic in Edinburgh, turns out there are no thoracic surgeons (private) in the whole of Scotland, they didn't even have one in Newcastle so they were no help.

this was the only NHS thoracic surgeon I could see in Edinburgh, so if I wanted to continue using the NHS I couldn't put in the complaint as I would have to see him again!!! HOW BAD IS THAT, not being able to speak up against a doctor.

The BSGE centre the sent me there were no help, they passed it back to my GP to deal with, which I thought was a bit of a cop out!

Some amazing girls on these groups kept recommending the same thoracic surgeon BUT he is 400 miles away. He seems lovely from what I have heard and I think at this point I don't have an option but to get a referral down South to see a decent thoracic surgeon.

If I do get to see another specialist I will definitely be putting in my complaint.

Have any of you girls had to deal with a similar situation?

xx

Hi

I read your other post about the cardiologist and how he wants to help. Could you let him know about the crap thoracic surgeon? If he truly wants to help and doesn’t mind stepping on toes I’d say he’s your best bet.

I’m amazed there isn’t anyone else, I suppose endo there is specialist, but it doesn’t mean he has to be mean.

We have to remember we have as near a decent life as they do.

I hope you get something sorted soon.

Hi, I know how you feel, even though I knew I would see my specialist again I still complained about how she had treated me. In my case, it has improved our communication. I didn't mince my words & was to the point. She had no choice but to listen once the official complaint was in. You should always say how you feel. It's also a contributing factor to your wanting to be seen by someone else. I've been on my endo journey for 12 years now. And only finally getting sorted after speaking my mind about her treatment towards me. 🙈
