Recurrent hiccups?

Does anyone get recurrent excessive hiccups? I have bad bloating and other gastro issues too when this happens, nausea, constipation etc. But the hiccups drive me to despair!

Yes! In fact I think hiccups were one of my first symptoms, before I even started my periods. Now I notice the hiccups come more at certain times of the months, and coincide a lot with the bloating as you say. I worry that it means the endo is on my diaphragm? Am waiting for an operation...

Yes! That's exactly like mine, I've had them from being a kid but now they flare around my cycle and I can pretty much mark on a calendar when symptoms will start peaking! Have you found anything to help calm them down?

So glad to hear it's not just me! I always thought it was very strange. I find peppermint capsules can help, also only eating light meals. How about you?

I've not tried peppermint yet, I keep meaning to buy some and then forgetting lol but at the moment I've not found anything that stops it, I can hiccup after water lol it's driving me nuts 😂

Yes I get them as well!! Sometimes it's not like a regular hiccup, it's like a flutter in my diaphragm... actually it feels like Im carrying a baby and feeling movement inside me. It's usually right below my breasts, wierdest feeling ever. For the regular hiccups I've found sometimes a spoonful of honey or peanut butter seems to help.

Omg I've said that loads of times, my hubby has joked that I'm growing a xenomorph and a face hugger is going to fly out one day 😂 I can't believe that, I've never heard anyone else say it! I get mine just below my ribs too, right on where that first muscle line is. I also get them in the centre near my intestines and a little flutter in my womb. Oooh I like peanut butter so I'll give that a go!

I used to be plagued by hiccups until, as an adult, I eliminated foods I react to . After that, I found that certain foods will instantly give me hiccups, such as watermelon. Now that I know which foods to avoid, I rarely get them - just when I eat some type of offending food. (Hope this helps!)

Thank you :) sadly I get them even if I've not eaten anything, I've had an empty stomach loads of times and been woken up at 3am with them :( just from rolling over in my sleep!

Oh, yikes - that is sad!! I can't even imagine. Sorry to hear that!
