hi everyone,

i was just wondering if someone has had a similar experience to me and knows what is happening to me.

i am currently on medication to stop my periods (and have been since september), as my periods are extremely heavy and painful (so painful that the last time i had one i had to convince my parents not to call an ambulance). yesterday i all of a sudden had a very strong period cramp out of nowhere which lasted for about a minute and then i was okay, the pain was very intense but then most of it went away. then the pain started getting worse (it took about half an hour to become unbearable) and i became extremely nauseous and faint. then (tmi warning!!) i had to rush to the loo and had the worst loose bowel movement i’ve ever had (basically water). despite all of this there was no blood, but the pain remained unbearable and about an hour and a half later i was desperate for the loo again (same as before). i then slept for a bit and the pain went away for the rest of the day. this morning, however, i woke up at 4am with the unbearable period pain and diarrhoea but there was still no blood so i’m just wondering what is going on? the pain has been excruciating and i’m really concerned as i haven’t had a period in months and i’m not supposed to be having one (or any of the symptoms). i’m still feeling very faint and weak but i’m having to take dihydrocodeine that i have left over from surgery every few hours to keep the pain away so it may just be from that.

anyways, if anyone has had a similar experience please let me know because i’m freaking out!! thanks ❤️

Hi

That sounds awful, you really should speak to a GP about it, at least rule out any infection. Have you had a gynae referral?

The GP should ask you to go in, even to do a urine test at the very least. Hopefully they will ask you to do a stool test as well, or do ask about it.

hiya,

i am currently being looked after by a gynae, i originally didn’t want to bother her as i didn’t think there was much she could do but i think you are right! i’m going to talk to her tomorrow and see what can be done.

thanks for your advice :)

Have you had any scans to rule out endometriomas (chocolate cysts)? I had exactly that pain and nausea after my cyst burst (it happened to me twice, both times blue-lighted to the hospital). Now, I have regular trans-vaginal scans to monitor for them.

i’ve had a lot of scans recently and a laparoscopy, they’ve all shown that there’s basically nothing wrong with me. thank you though, i’ll be sure to ask my gynae about those!
