Hi,

Just thought I’d update you all.

I had my operation on Friday the 18th- less than a week ago. I got diagnosed with active endometriosis and ovarian fossae. Unfortunately nothing could be removed because of where the endometriosis is.

If anyone has any tips of recovery that would be perfect.

Thanks jade x

How do you feel? Hopefully not too uncomfortable.Where was the endo?

Plenty of rest, body needs this for healing. Try not to overdo anything. Keep an eye on the wounds, I’ve kept mine dry for four or five days after, people vary.

If you’re likely to run out of meds over Christmas speak to GP ASAP, keeping regular pain relief will help.

Can’t think of much at the moment, even though it hasn’t been long since last one 😆🙄

The endo is on my pelvis, I had a shower after 3 days and haven’t had one since. I have bruising and the stitches are still there, the area is still painful though. I have just ordered more medication for over Christmas Thankyou. I am trying not to overdo anything but I get bored after a hour of lying down. I have been doing the odd cleaning but not hoovering as I know that would put me at risk.

How was your recovery? X

If they were unable to remove the endo are you being referred on to a specialist endo centre?

It is boring, no disagreement on that one 😀Now you’ve mentioned bruising arnica is great for that and can sometimes help with pain as well.

What about a book or an online course, learn a new skill, making things passes the time. I did some online courses during this year, either free or cheap, so many deals out there. The odd bit of cleaning.

I’m not sure how long stitches took to dissolve, week/ten days possibly.

It’s remembering the insides have been moved around, even if they didn’t treat.

I think Endo was in the pelvis as well as pouch of Douglas, he couldn’t see everything because of uterus, treated what he could. Hopefully they’ll refer you to a specialist now.

All I can say is everyone heals with time- gentle walks- small jobs around the house.

Try to keep the wound clean- but contact Gp if you are worried _ or use your

local chemist for advice.

If you can bear it try not to use too many painkillers- natural things you already

have in the home- warm towel'hot water bottle- natural ginger will help with

sickness-

Be good to yourself rest when you can - short periods of exercise slowly building

up your your energy. Will be tired but again rest up and do things that you want to do.
