Hello Ladies,

Hope your all well. Just a quick question. But have any of you been put on oramorph for period pains. Just wondering if it took your period pains away. Up to now I've taken 7.5ml. And I'm still in a lot of pain.

Hi

If you are finding it’s not working you should talk to GP, I’m not sure what else you may have tried.

Have you seen a gynaecologist?

I have morphine very occasionally as I don’t like opiates, I take other painkillers on a daily basis due to endo and bowels.

Hope you can get it sorted, period pain can be awful. If you haven’t seen a specialist do ask for referral.

Hi i am on oramorph and have been for years. I take 4 x 5ml daily. It doesn’t stop my pains as they are severe but it does help take the edge off to make it more manageable/bearable. I am on the waiting list to see a pain specialist and hoping they can put me on something else x

I have oramorph and was given it when I left hospital, I’ve only taken it for three days in a row while I had a random pelvic pain that sent me beyond normal levels.

I didn’t know it was something you could take daily? I was knocked out on 5ml, felt queasy and slept. So taking daily what does the drug achieve? Do you feel sleepy and unable to function?

I have a bottle and it’s “in case of emergency” I’m my head, but maybe there are evenings where it would help, like now! Up since 4am with pains.

I don’t like taking it daily and i have repeatedly asked the gp to prescribe me something else but they are limited in what they can offer and nothing else they have given me works. Hence why i am waiting to see the pain specialist. I felt exactly like you described at the beginning but my body soon got used to it. I still have the odd day where it hits me abit harder and i feel sick and struggle to function but generally it just takes the edge off my pain. 🙂

Hi sorry to hear your still in pain,

I had this also I found it didn’t minimise my pain and I threw up so much on it and suffered low blood pressure. I hope you manage to find something that helps.
