Question here, I have had many operations in the past to remove endo and it keeps coming back. I've had full hysterectomy and both ovaries removed. I was doing great for a year until my endo symptoms came back. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had endo return after having ovaries removed or have or going through menopause?

Hi I hope you are ok yes endo can return after a full hysterectomy 😢 I had one too a couple of years ago I haven't been right since and I also have fibro myalgia due to being so poorly after my FIVE hour operation 😡😡 it was meant to be an hour and a half but there were many complications I'm afraid endo never goes away completely it's not curable (despite being told having a baby or a hysterectomy will get rid of it) I got told after my op that endometriosis spreads I have it on my bowels and bladder and spine and my gullet I have had to research alot of information about endometriosis myself maybe you could do the same my lovely 💛💛x p.s I have been going through the menopause since I didn't know that the menopause can last for many years after a hysterectomy 😢😢xx
Sorry to hear that you went through all that and still are suffering. I have had many operations to remove endo but it keeps coming back. I suffer with celiac disease,IBS weakness in my spin, my bones are thinning, suffer from menopause as well. My last operation was in 2017, I had both my ovaries removed it was a 5 hour operation and I developed compartment syndrome in my right calf while in the recovery room and had to have 4 emergency operation within 1 week. So instead of staying in hospital for 2 nights I ended up staying 2 weeks. I was on crutches for over a year. And last year I had another operation on my right leg to correct my foot so I could put my heal down it was to stretch my Achilles tendon. Now I have noticed that my bladder pains and infection are back. My headache is back. In fact all my symptoms are back from before I had my ovaries removed. I'm was guessing that maybe the surgeon missed a little bit of endo. But can't be sure.
Are you taking HRT tablets?
I'm taking Femoston which I have and am scared to take.
