Endo sufferer worried about coming off zoladex

I have been on zoladex to treat endometriosis and adenomyosis for 13months and after some really bad side affects recently I have made the decision to come of it 4 months early. Now I am worried about what to expect coming off it. At the moment about 3-4 days before the injection is due I start to get period pains; my nurse said that could mean that everything would go back to like it was before. Some people have said that the pain is immense and that they bleed really heavy too, but I am not sure what to expect.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry I don’t have any answers but just wanted you to know I’m in a similar position and found it helpful reading your post.

Im also just coming off Zoladex after 6 months and I also experienced pain few days before each injection so I’m really worried about stopping. I’m less than a week after what would have been my next injection and so far everything okay, although I know it’s too early to tell really.

Just for once I wish my body would give me a break so I’m being (naively) hopeful!

Aww I know the feeling about needing a break from it. Hopefully things will steadily come back for you. I’m hoping the same xx I’m about a week before injection is due xx

Hi girls. I came off decapeptyl after being on it for a year and I won't lie, it was bloody tough. I did bleed a bit but nothing horrendous but the pain was off the scale. My gp gave me morphine and told me to take some time off. I went back on it soon after and 3 years later I've just come off it again in preparation for surgery. Can say this time it's not been nearly as bad, hardly any effects at all. So I guess it's different for everyone, just try to be prepared. Good luck xx
