Diagnosed with endometriosis at 18

Hi, this is my first time here but I'm 24 years old, my endometriosis started when I was 16 excruciating pain, fainting and periods that would be so heavy at times I wouldn't be able to leave the bathroom, it took two years for my diagnosis and first treatment (laporoscopy) because I was told I was too young to have endometriosis. Anyway fast track a few years and two kids later, I've started having pains again, and the bloating sensation I had before, blood in my wee and high resting heart rate (92-thanks fitbit🙄) my periods have turned black and thick and well everytime I see a doctor I just get fobbed off, it's normal... Apparently... I suppose I'm here to ask it it normal? Or are these signs of progression again from endometriosis. I don't know what to do or think.

Doesn't sound normal to me. I was diagnosed at 18, there's no such thing as too young to have endometriosis, it can happen as soon as you start your periods.

Thank you, I didn't think it was normal and yes I remember my mom arguing with consultants about it 🤦‍♀️ x

It’s far from normal but you’re not alone. I feel doctors and nurses need to be more educated on Endometriosis because the symptoms change and progress every single time your body fights it. I was officially diagnosed last year, I’m 26. However I have had to deal with all of this since I hit puberty.

I would definitely keep pushing at the doctors and if one fobs you off, get a second opinion. I hope this finds you comfort on some way x
